To play off the traditional detailing, we used color and pattern as a background for English antiques and an extensive collection of contemporary art and photography. The result is a quintessential San Francisco mix of traditional and modern, with every space suited for entertaining friends, kids, and dogs alike. After an inspiring first meeting, the project expanded to a multi-floor renovation, including new master and guest suites. Working with the architect and contractor, we achieved a seamless flow between the original craftsman detailing and a gorgeous chef's kitchen, which opened up to a new deck and garden. With the original spirit of the house in mind, we redesigned the upper level and guest suite with custom cabinetry and finishes, and furnished them with contemporary classics. What they wanted was a Hampton’s-inspired modern farmhouse. We collaborated with the owners, architect, and contractor to completely re-imagine the floorplan and every surface, inside and out. We created a clean, modern interior that serves as the perfect backdrop for a new collection of antiques and custom upholstery. Also featuring art by family and friends, we’re pleased to report that the home finally feels like a true extension of the family who lives there. Our goal was to draw a meaningful connection between the house and land, using color and texture to tell the story. The interior walls playfully explore shades of green and showcase the owner's collection of antique furniture, ironstone, art, and taxidermy. The result is a welcoming home filled with curiosities, countless reading nooks, and, most importantly, a really good place to take a nap.
