Good design tells a story.

Stephen Moore Home takes a collaborative approach to interior design, beginning with you. Our job is to understand your wants and needs and then translate your story in a way that you couldn't have achieved on your own. We start by sorting through what's already there, then adding or subtracting to design a space that feels authentic and fresh. Whether we are designing one room or an entire house, our goal is to create personable and unique spaces that will grow and adapt as you do. We offer one-time consultations, project management, and design work for any scale.

Dolores Heights Edwardian

This stately Edwardian received a total renovation to open up the original floor plan, while remaining faithful to the house’s period charm. To play off the traditional detailing, we used color and pattern as a background for English antiques and an extensive collection of contemporary art and photography. The result is a quintessential San Francisco mix of traditional and modern, with every space suited for entertaining friends, kids, and dogs alike. The project was in collaboration with John Lum Architecture and Herling Construction.

Noe Valley Craftsman

The clients for this project originally approached us about creating their dream kitchen. After an inspiring first meeting, the project expanded to a multi-floor renovation, including new master and guest suites. Working with the architect and contractor, we achieved a seamless flow between the original craftsman detailing and a gorgeous chef's kitchen, which opened up to a new deck and garden. With the original spirit of the house in mind, we redesigned the upper level and guest suite with custom cabinetry and finishes, and furnished them with contemporary classics. This project was in collaboration with Rossington Architecture and Amber-True Construction.

Sonoma Farmhouse

This 100 year-old farm house is surrounded by fruit orchards and old-growth redwoods. Our goal was to draw a meaningful connection between the house and land, using color and texture to tell the story. The interior walls playfully explore shades of green and showcase the owner's collection of antique furniture, ironstone, art, and taxidermy. The result is a welcoming home filled with curiosities, countless reading nooks, and, most importantly, a really good place to take a nap.

Mill Valley Shingle

When the owners purchased this hilltop estate in Marin, it looked like a rustic Tahoe retreat. What they wanted was a Hampton’s-inspired modern farmhouse. We collaborated with the owners, architect, and contractor to completely re-imagine the floorplan and every surface, inside and out. We created a clean, modern interior that serves as the perfect backdrop for a new collection of antiques and custom upholstery. Also featuring art by family and friends, we’re pleased to report that the home finally feels like a true extension of the family who lives there. This project was in collaboration with Daniel Caster Architecture and Tom Ganley Construction.
